Safety Training & Reimbursement on Hold... NEW
[8/15/2008] - As you know, Governor Paterson has halted all state spending until further notice. Unfortunately, we have been informed by the New York State DOL that this applies to our Safety and Health grant. You may continue to do your training, and submit requests for reimbursement, however, we are not sure when the spending freeze will be lifted. We will keep you informed as we receive information. more

Welcome to The New York State Building
& Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO
Thank you for visiting the web page of the New York State
Building & Construction Trades Council. The unionized
construction industry is very unique, and we are proud to be
the organization that leads the way when it comes to
standing up for what is best for our members...and what is
best for our communities.
From Niagara Falls to Massena to Albany to Long
Island.....it is the members of the NYS Building Trades that
create the infrastructure, stadiums, bridges, libraries,
office buildings, and schools that make our state such a
wonderful place to live and do business. It is these same
members of the Building Trades that tirelessly give back to
their communities by volunteering their time to
organizations that make life better for those less
fortunate. Whether its volunteering at the Open Door Mission
in Rochester, the Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls or
the Association for the Help of Retarded Children in Nassau,
our members go above and beyond the call of duty to raise
the standard of living for people in our communities.
The work of the unionized construction trades speaks for
itself. Our apprenticeship training programs are second to
none, and no one can compete with the level of skilled
craftsmanship that our journeymen bring to the job site.
Please take the time to browse our web site. Here you will
be able to link to our affiliated local unions, contractors,
and government contacts. You will also be able to get
information on Helmets to Hard Hats, Safety and Health
training, and upcoming events being hosted by the State
Council.
Thanks for visiting....and as always.....BUILD IT
RIGHT.....BUILD UNION!
