About Us

The unionized construction industry is very unique, and we are proud to be the organization that leads the way when it comes to standing up for what is best for our members...and what is best for our communities.

The work of the unionized construction trades speaks for itself. Our apprenticeship training programs are second to none, and no one can compete with the level of skilled craftsmanship that our journeymen bring to the job site.

For the last decade or more, the New York State Building and Construction Trades Council has identified as its top priority the CREATION OF JOBS. The landmark Tappan Zee Bridge Project Labor Agreement has led the way on this front, and today PLAs can be found in all areas of the state. Our members are seeing the results.

Our accomplishments and our undertakings are all done in the spirit of unity - not only with our building trades brothers and sisters, but also with all segments of organized labor. It is the responsibility and commitment of the New York State Building Trades Council to represent the best interests of all of our members. This has always been the philosophy of the building trades’ leadership, and this philosophy will continue, as it should, into the future.
